2017 Section II Cross Country Champion and Schenectady High School record holder, Maazin Ahmed, signed a National Letter of Intent with Georgetown University’s track and field team on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at  Schenectady High School.   Ahmed was joined by his mother and Coach Menis.

Titles and Accomplishments:

• Suburban Council 1600m Track Champion 2017

• State Qualifier 1600 m outdoor Track 2016 and Indoor Track 2017

• First Place, One Mile, Eddy Meet, 2016

• Section II Class A Cross Country Champion 2017 (First Schenectady HS runner to place first.  First from any Schenectady school to place first since 1979 (Ike Weston, Mont Pleasant High School)  and second since 1963)
  

• Placed 12^th in New York State Class A Cross Country Championships in 2017

• School record holder in Saratoga Championship Cross Country Course (15:06)

• Suburban Council Cross Country First Team All Star in 2017 and Second Team All Star in 2016
